about

"Combining folk, country, bluegrass, blues, and roots music with a homegrown feel, Jethro Easyfields is a dynamic performer with some serious skills. No wonder he’s known as something of a local songwriting legend... Southern-rock-inspired piano bangers, country ballads, Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska, Elvis Costello’s swagger, early Wilco’s drunken haze (when they could still be called "alt-country"), excellent storytelling, love gone wrong - it’s all there." (Musical Family Tree 2012)

It was 2006 - I was drawn back to New Orleans, Louisiana. The city was ravaged by Hurricane Katrina and making the transisitons for rebuilding. It had always been a strangeland but now was getting stranger... I was playing guitar for sessions with the band Cool Coyote and busking the streets with a cook job on the side... the "Po-Boy Chronicles" was written and recorded at this time in the Bywater neighboorhood on St. Claude. Alot of these songs spill into New Orleans flavor and character among desolate conditions and puts a spell on you. I was becoming unhinged as well amist the sabbatical. This recording was made to keep me sane and progressive. There are portions of this collection that contain adult language and adult themes...it's risky, spooky, vulgar and vile at times. Be careful with the diary presented here...it's real stuff...conversations, characters and creeds I overheard and what has overwhelmed me. Mercy. (J.Easyfields)

about

Jethro Easyfields Indianapolis, Indiana

Easyfields style blends a variety of genres, many of them collectively forming what has become known as American Roots music, that is, distinctly American musical genres like country, bluegrass, and blues. Whether performing solo or with a band, Easyfields culls his sound from all of the above, at times throwing in some rock and even punk leanings to keep the brew interesting. ... more
